I worked professionally for close to ten years prior to making a career transition to become a clinical psychologist. Consequently, I bring a breadth of professional experience that helps me relate to the nuanced stressors that people encounter in their working life.
My training as a clinical psychologist has also been diverse, ranging from such varied environments as private practice to intensive outpatient to correctional. These experiences certainly better equip me to work with a wide range of referrals and concerns. From them I have learned the capacity to experience psychological pain is a human commonality, irrespective of a person’s background or whatever walk of life they may come from. As a psychologist, I do not judge the source of a person’s discomfort, but instead I understand my role is to help a person feel better in their own skin.
