Erin McGuire is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona who has been practicing since 2019. Erin took some time to figure out what she wanted to do in life so, after working in the field for several years, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Sciences in 2009 at York College of Pennsylvania and then went on to complete her Master’s in Professional Counseling with a specialization in trauma, abuse, and deprivation from Ottawa University in 2013. Erin has been working in the field since 2002 in a variety of capacities but has enjoyed working with youth in acute care and residential settings the most. Erin works with ages 4-18 and specializes in treating; childhood trauma, challenging and oppositional behavior, family communication and relational issues, and mood dysregulation. Erin takes a positive, playful, and educational approach; she believes education is the first step towards building insight and awareness into one’s own needs and that every child, teenager, and adult needs more PLAY! Utilizing a combination of play-based and expressive arts therapies along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Erin tailors treatment to each person’s specific needs and values meeting each individual where they are at. In her free time Erin enjoys continuing to learn and grow in her practice, doing arts and crafts, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her dog Murphy.
