Glenn is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received his Master's degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Glenn earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts and Sciences. In addition, Glenn has received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in a community setting and is a certified Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapist for the treatment of PTSD.
Having previously worked in community mental health, Glenn has a wide range of experience treating a diverse adult population and a broad array of concerns from serious mental illness to more common challenges such as depression, anxiety, and relationship/intimacy issues.
In his clinical practice, Glenn leans heavily upon insight-oriented, psychodynamic therapy approaches, with elements drawn from interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. Glenn also draws from his academic background and passion for the arts, literature, and philosophy to help clients with making meaning out of their lives and the world around them, as well as embracing the ambiguity and complexity of life, work, and relationships.
Currently, Glenn specializes in working with young and emerging adults and in treating such concerns as depression, anxiety and panic disorders, bipolar symptoms and disorders, PTSD, life transition/adjustment issues, and challenges in relationships. Glenn views his role as a counselor as that of a guide on his clients' path to a healthier, values-consistent, and personally meaningful life and places great emphasis on the concepts of acceptance, flexibility, nonjudgmental curiosity and compassion in his clinical work. He looks forward to working with individuals who want to explore and confront unhelpful, self-defeating patterns in their lives and move together toward the change(s) they desire in a spirit of openness, humor, and acceptance.
