Whether you are seeking therapy for the first time or have spent years in therapy, I understand the challenges of starting with someone new. I believe the client-therapist relationship is one of the most important aspects of effective therapy, and I provide a warm and compassionate space for you to tell your story.
I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Illinois, which informs my approach to care. Combining dialogue, psychoeducation, humor, and evidence-based practices, I tailor each session to you and what is needed in the present moment. I act as a guide, helping you along the way toward new insight and resources.
I believe that when we feel in control of our responses and choices, we are better equipped to handle life's challenges. Therefore, a large part of my approach is helping you identify helpful versus unhelpful thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors. I encourage examination of your inner world with self-compassion and making necessary changes in service of your highest goals and values. I also honor the mind-body connection, paying attention to the ways our bodies store stress and trauma. In our work together, we will explore signs it may be impacting you and learn ways to cope and become more resilient to stress.
Whether you are seeking to work on the effects of trauma, relationship issues, symptom management, self-esteem, or life transitions, I welcome clients to bring their full selves into the room. Through our work together, it is my hope that you feel seen, heard, and empowered to make a difference in your life.
