I come into sessions with a unique approach. While I have some experience, I am also still learning. Being in this situation allows me to be flexible in my approach to therapy, adapting to each client's needs. I have updated knowledge of many therapeutic approaches that can be utilized to help each unique client. I intend to work alongside my client and help each client feel comfortable and relaxed during our time together.
My goal as a therapist is to help individuals work through difficult situations while maintaining their dignity and building their self-worth. I believe every person is good and has so much to offer, and with guidance, I hope to help them find that within themself. When working with a client, I will take time to genuinely understand their perceptions of reality. Through doing this, I can work through these perceptions with them to reach their goals. Although I appreciate and intend to use many therapeutic approaches, I often gravitate towards constructivist and person-centered theories. Together, these theories allow me and my client to form a safe, healthy, and positive relationship, which is essential for change. I believe that people have choice and responsibility, that change must come from a client's desire for it, and that a client is the only one who can change themselves. Therefore, my goal as a therapist is to help my clients reach a place of self-awareness where they are conscious of their greatness and capabilities and use that to help them achieve their goals and ultimately live their best life.
