“Hello! This is not about Iesha, who was fine. The LifeStance Health office charged me for my visit despite accepting my insurance. I paid promptly, but decided to stop after two visits in part because of the cost. I found out the service had actually been fully covered by my insurance when I received the billing statement. I called the office explaining the situation and requesting reimbursement but never heard back. Several months later, I decided to try again. It took seven subsequent calls to two offices (on 8/11, 8/13, 8/16, 8/17) (and two voicemails, because you don't always reach someone) before this was resolved. I used the phrase "billing fraud" in my final voicemail. After that, it was immediately refunded. Because of this I don't feel I can recommend this office.”

“Ms. Whitaker is an excellent listener. She did a beautiful job of making me feel seen and heard. My appointment was over video but not through ZocDoc and the agency, LifeStance Health, was diligent in following up with me to make sure I was prepared for my video appointment. They sent me emails with all of the necessary info that I needed to be able to connect with Ms. Whitaker. I now have weekly appointments scheduled with her and it feels reassuring to know that I have this consistent mental health check-in to look forward to in my life. ”

Iesha has been in the field since 2009 and has experience in several modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Supportive Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. Other highlights of her experience include working in OMH and DHS mental health clinics and hospital settings, which consisted of inpatient units, emergency room care, and discharge planning. Iesha has also worked in Day Treatment Programs, Supportive Housing, Group Therapy, and closely with scheduling client events. She is passionate about helping clients of minority backgrounds who suffer from mental illness and face disadvantages and generational poverty. Iesha also has a passion for working with youth-pre-teens and teenagers-navigating junior high school, high school, college years, and the transition into adulthood. She enjoys collaborating with women on specific women's issues and adversities. Iesha obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, with a Minor in African and Latino Studies, from Hunter College, City University of New York, in 2005. She returned to graduate school from 2009 to 2011 and earned her Master's Degree in Social Work at Hunter College School of Social Work, City University of New York.
