Kobi is a wonderful therapist-- at once considerate and insightful, thoughtful and guiding, but never dominating. He is also, importantly, down to earth: I never feel uncomfortable or analyzed or on the spot. He creates an environment in which I feel that the time is mine to explore, but also guides towards greater insight. So many people I know have a difficult time finding a therapist, and I feel fortunate in clicking with Kobi right away. I'm continually surprised by how effective and clarifying therapy can be, a relationship to therapy that is entirely possible because of Kobi. I was new to therapy and even slightly skeptical of the whole thing, but I can say my life is so much better for it: it feels clearer and more possible, and I feel so much more confident and less anxious. I would recommend Kobi to anyone in search of help uncovering and navigating their life.
Kobi is the best! He is patient, kind, insightful, and very easy to talk to. I have had many trust issues around therapy in my life. Kobi has really gotten to know me and has taken the time to build trust and understanding. He's given me actionable takeaways from our sessions that have helped me handle stressors in my life. I can't recommend him highly enough!

More about Jacob (Kobi) Bordoley, MA

Hello! I'm a therapist who cares a lot about helping people be their authentic selves and break free from lifestyle or behavioral patterns that aren't serving them. My work is trauma-informed, inclusive, and mindful. I welcome you in the space, no matter how contradictory, indecisive, or unsure you may be about your beliefs, identities, desires, urges, or goals. I specialize in working with gender and sexuality, intimacy issues, trauma, grief, chronic illness/disability/caretaking, non-monogamy (ENM), infidelity, kink, men's issues, masculinity, depression, anxiety, substances, and intergenerational trauma and marginalization. I am especially attuned to Jewish topics, including assimilation, antisemitism, faith, and more. As a young adult cancer survivor living with an auto-immune disease, I am mindful of medical trauma and of the frustrations that come with living in an ablest, healthcare scarce world. I work with individuals, couples, and lead two men's groups as a group therapist. If you're interested in joining one of our groups, please let me know. In addition to working as a therapist, I am also a Course Assistant at NYU. *Please note -- appointments made on ZocDoc are for initial consults only -- we'll chat, hear more about you and my work make sure we're a fit to get you the best care possible!

It has been such a pleasure to work with Kobi over the past year and a half or so. I had had the same therapist for 3 years prior to working with Kobi, and he gave me a fresh perspective that really helped me work through issues I wasn’t seeing progress on for a while. He was a huge advocate for me while I planned for my gender affirming surgery. I feel like he really understood the way I communicated and matched my energy, meeting me with humor and levity when I needed it while also holding me accountable to address emotions I was either hiding or maybe just wasn’t able to notice yet. Very grateful for Kobi and the work we’ve done together.
As Kobi's former client and a therapist myself, I can only say that Kobi is a warm, knowledgeable, and genuine therapist who I highly recommend.
Jacob (Kobi) is an empathetic and problem solving therapist who helped me with all sorts of issues I'm navigating through! He does a thorough intake session for the first call and delves deep into my personal history. With that knowledge, we tackle issues I may be dealing with including (but not limited to) personal self thoughts, relationship communications, work troubles, health issues, and mindfulness. He's even had great suggestions and tools shared to help me deal with a late-night insomnia I was dealing for a ew months. I could not recommend him enough! And when I share my takeaways with my wife after some sessions, she said "I wish I had a Kobi"
Jacob (Kobi) is such a fantastic therapist. He is so professional, and is extremely thorough. He has helped me reach my goals in therapy, and has helped greatly improve my life. I'd highly recommend him to any of my friends. The practice, Embodied Mind, is also administered very well- easy to get appointments and to process payment. Thank you, Kobi and Embodied Mind!
