More about Janelle Thompson, LMSW
It can be overwhelming dealing with the ups and downs of life. Learning how to balance personal challenges, emotional struggles, and trying to navigate grief, trauma, anxiety, and more. I understand how that feels, dealing with grief and trauma from a young age. That affected me in many ways, but also helped me grow stronger. It helped me become passionate about helping others who may be goingthrough something similar. The biggest lesson I have learned is that you don’t have to go through this alone.
You are not alone. I will be here for you no matter what. I meet my clients where they are at. I show them compassion, empathy, and understanding. I hope to provide a safe and non-judgmental space. I will have patience and understanding when helping kids and teens navigate talking about emotions, navigating grief, understanding trauma, anxiety, experiencing personal challenges, emotional struggles, and more. I want to make sure that my clients feel supported and notice the progress they make every time we meet. Even just a little bit of progress is something to celebrate.
As a Clinical Social Work Intern, I am experienced in Case Management, working with veteran family members, crisis support, supporting clients in higher education, and utilizing empowerment while buildingtrust. My goal is to help my clients receive the support I wish I had when I was younger. I want them to feel supported, respected, and know that I am there for them on this journey.
