Janet’s therapeutic style includes a safe, emphatic, compassionate non-judgmental space to incorporate a strength-based approach through rational emotive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and mindfulness-based practices. Janet has worked as a counselor in drug and alcohol residential treatment facilities with adolescents, adults and their families.
Janet received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado, majoring in Psychology. She received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Community Counseling.
She completed all required course work and supervised hours to become a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Certified Addictions Counselor level three and a level II EMDR therapist. These are the highest certifications that a therapist can obtain in these areas of specialization.
