“First appointment was easy to make. I received an email to fill out intake forms online - all were quick and easy to do, and it felt like she read them before our meeting and was prepared. Since therapy is an ongoing process, it’s hard to really speak to the quality of care after one meeting but I did feel heard and felt like she was engaged and communicated well - so all green flags so far. Her office IS located in a church, which was a little weird to walk through but the office itself is spacious and felt nice to be in. I also appreciated that the welcome email calls this out and offers an alternative virtual meeting for anyone who wouldn’t be comfortable. Overall, had a positive experience and would tec”

“I love working with Kearsten! I need someone who is personally very adjustable to different things I am feeling anxious about each week and she is super adaptable. I appreciate her willingness to just listen and force me to sit in my thoughts and share them out loud. She also is the first to let me know that what I’m feeling is valid and it’s been amazing! ”

Getting to know Kearsten Hobbs

Hi! I'm Kearsten, and I am so glad you have landed on my page. I care deeply about each of my clients flourishing. At times, experiences with life can keep us from that-maybe it's anxiety, depression, complicated family dynamics, or life simply not looking the way you had hoped. While therapy with me (or anyone) does not immediately take the pain away, I am here to help you navigate it, finding healing and joy along the way. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary and a Bachelor's degree from John Brown University. My approach with clients is one of compassion and collaboration. I will work as hard as you, helping you cultivate the change you wish to see, all from a place of empathy, authenticity, and hope.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Maybe you are here because you are seeking counseling for yourself or for someone you love. In either scenario, I would love to step in and help. With me as the therapist, you (or your loved one) will experience warmth, safety, compassion, and partnership in the healing process. While being listened to, feeling empathized with, and being asked intentional questions, you will experience genuine care with me as your therapist. Through evidence-based therapy interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems Therapy, we will partner together to help you grow and heal. I will hold hope for you every step of the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After the initial get-to-know-you session, Kearsten and the client will identify target areas of growth, and create a personalized plan to help you achieve therapeutic goal. These goals can be specific or broad, but will help give you an idea of how therapy will look for you uniquely.
