I am a trained perinatal mental health clinician and licensed social worker in Illinois. I received my master's in social work from the University of Chicago in 2017 with an emphasis on social entrepreneurship. I have experience working in perinatal HIV counseling and crisis counseling in outpatient clinical settings. I offer individual therapy to adults. In addition to my role as a psychotherapist, I am also Nurture Therapy’s Intake Specialist and Outreach Coordinator.
I have always been interested in helping others achieve their life outcomes and overcome their challenges-a desire that originated from wanting to do this for myself. This has led me to develop an array of academic and professional experiences with evidence-based treatments that ensure you receive the best therapy for you.
Using techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, and Mindfulness, I collaborate with you to work through your challenges. I aim to create an emotional climate where clients feel secure to explore their thoughts, lives, and emotions. I provide a safe, warm and non-judgmental environment for you to heal, grow, and transform.
With a deep understanding of the emotional and psychological changes that women go through during pregnancy and in the postpartum period, I offer a safe and supportive environment for clients to process and cope with their experiences. I help expectant mothers prepare for the changes that come with motherhood, and can provide support and guidance on how to maintain self-care during pregnancy and in the postpartum period. I encourage my clients to take an active role in their healing journeys. My clinician interests include Perinatal Anxiety, Depression, Transition into Mother, stay-at-home moms, breastfeeding complications, Pregnancy/parenting with twins and multiples, and Perinatal HIV care.
