Getting to know Jerry Riggs
I am Jerry A. Riggs, Sr., holding advanced degrees including a Master's in Mental Health Counseling and a Master's in Theology from Trinity International University, as well as bachelor's degrees from Arizona State University and McKendree University. Since 2016, I have been conducting mental health counseling sessions. My specialties include secular mental health counseling intertwined with Christian theology when appropriate; psychodynamic interviewing and therapy; cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); mindfulness therapy; gestalt therapy; psychoeducational therapy; and Christian pastoral counseling if needed. These techniques are especially effective for patients experiencing anxiety, depression, guilt/shame issues, relationship challenges, family counseling, marriage mediation, bereavement, self-esteem concerns, and teenage angst. While I have successfully worked with all populations, my prior careers and experiences make me particularly effective with public employees such as law enforcement officers and firefighters, as well as lawyers, ministers, and teenagers.
