Hi there, I'm Deborah! I am a Texas LPC with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and additional graduate training from Liberty University. I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health field in various roles. I have a deep passion for working with people experiencing trauma. People are often nervous about beginning therapy; either they don't know what to expect or they've had bad experiences before. We will collaborate to find the best strategies for you. We will talk about some things directly and address others indirectly; each approach helps you process and let go of pain and gain new perspectives. My approach My approach to counseling is eclectic, as everyone has distinct needs. I live in a space of gratitude and positivity and hope to share my experience and expertise with you. I look forward to beginning sessions with you and/or your loved ones. My focus My passion is working with people who have experienced trauma. PTSD, Bipolar disorder, anxiety, personality disorders, dissociative identity disorder, and schizophrenia are typical conditions I treat. My goal is to provide the right support for any challenge you're facing. Because everyone has unique needs, I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based strategies, exposure therapy, or a combination. For trauma, I am trained in Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. My communication style Clients say I provide a safe space. I am laid back but will hold difficult conversations and address trauma when the time is right. I teach strategies to calm the nervous system before going into trauma in-depth. My journey to mental healthcare I love working with people in crisis. Trauma is my passion, and I have spent 20 years learning what trauma does to the brain, body, and behaviors and how to treat it. I am a certified clinical trauma professional.
