Hi, I’m Jessica Troxler. I believe it’s important to share just enough about myself to start building a trusting therapeutic relationship without oversharing. I began my professional journey as a biology major but ultimately switched to psychology. Regardless of my major, I always knew I wanted to be in a helping profession and make a positive difference in people’s lives. I have been in the mental health field for over 7 years. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Social Work with a specialization in addiction counseling from Rutgers University in 2019. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu, spending time with friends and family, skiing, traveling, and attending concerts. I’ve had the honor of supporting clients through various life struggles, including navigating the aftermath of divorce or breakups, addiction, eating disorders, ADHD, schizophrenia, homelessness, anxiety, and depression. I’ve worked in a variety of settings such as inpatient mental health facilities, detox centers, and providing in-home therapy with families and children. You name it, I’ve probably helped someone through almost every issue life can present. If I don’t believe I can confidently address your specific needs, I will offer appropriate referrals. I utilize evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), solution-focused therapy, and Gottman Method couples therapy.
