Joanna’s entry into pelvic PT came from an interest in biomechanical interdependence, multisystem relationships, and societal influences. She looks to synthesize the lessons learned across disciplines to provide a healthy environment for the resilient body.
Joanna completed her doctoral capstone in the relationship of abdominal adhesions in pelvic pain. She is also one of fewer than 200 physical therapists to receive certification from the Postural Restoration Institute. During her initial years of clinical practice in orthopedics, Joanna began her coursework to learn more about pelvic floor dysfunction and its relationship with the body.
Throughout her career she has acquired training and practice in osteopathic principles, trigger point dry needling, and modern pain science. While at Aspetar Sports and Orthopedic Hospital in Qatar, she helped to return athletes to competition and healthy lifestyles. Joanna has also contributed to scholarly articles describing the distinctives of the women's health in sports performance and prolapse.
In her free time, Joanna enjoys reading about topics appropriate for long dinners, exploring the neighborhood and world with her family, and jogging while self-correcting her movement patterns.
We’re out of network because it means we can give you better care. Patients are seen for a full hour, one-on-one, without passing them off to aides. Treatment plans are based on your needs, not the needs of your insurance plan. And we work towards functional goals that improve your life—not industry minimums set by insurance providers. For all these reasons, we choose to remain out of network. Our internal billing staff will work with you to submit claims on your behalf and walk you through your options.
