Josh Vazquez is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Miami, Florida. He earned his Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Counseling Psychology at Florida International University, with an academic background in child and adolescent growth and development. Born and raised in a culturally diverse environment, Josh has a keen curiosity and respect for the various intersectional aspects that shape who we are and what challenges we may face in life, as well as the equally numerous strengths we have in us.
With extensive experience working with English and Spanish speaking individuals, families, and couples of different ethnicities, socioeconomic needs, generational and cultural histories, Josh places emphasis on understanding each person’s unique needs, goals, challenges, and skills, and tailors every therapeutic approach by listening to client feedback and working together, to ensure meaningful and long-lasting results. To do so, Josh takes from the approaches he knows best, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Transactional Analysis, and the Gottman Method. Josh has been successfully able to apply these and similar approaches to individuals, couples and families struggling from depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, cycles of harm and abuse, spiritual concerns, life transitions, and behavioral issues.
