“Maggie Beier Grzeskowiak is wonderful. I’m so glad that I found her. I’m looking forward to continuing therapy with her. I felt relieved after my first time seeing her. She made everything easy. She’s easy to talk to. She was extremely kind, and also very professional. I was nervous to try a new therapist and had been putting off looking for one. I am really glad that I finally did it. It couldn’t have gone smoother.”

Getting to know Margaret Beier Grzeskowiak

Please be aware: I am not a medication-prescribing provider and am unable to write or manage prescriptions. My sessions focus on psychotherapy — helping clients understand patterns, build self-trust, and create real, lasting change. My approach is active, direct, and insight-oriented. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits quietly nodding while you spiral through the same pain every week with no direction. I ask hard questions, notice patterns, and help clients understand what’s happening underneath the surface — emotionally, relationally, and within the nervous system itself. Therapy with me is collaborative. You do not need to have perfect insight or know exactly how to explain what you’re feeling, but meaningful change does require honesty, reflection, and willingness to engage in the process. This work goes beyond simply talking about stress. Together, we explore the deeper patterns driving anxiety, burnout, trauma responses, relationship difficulties, emotional shutdown, and the constant feeling of living in survival mode.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I show up and work my ass off for you, but I do do the work for you. Therapy with me is active and participatory. Therapy requires honesty, reflection, and willingness to engage in the process. This is not passive “show up and vent” therapy. Working with me is real, honest, engaged, and collaborative. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits silently nodding while you talk in circles for 55 minutes. I ask questions, notice patterns, challenge avoidance when needed, and help you make sense of what’s happening underneath the surface — emotionally, relationally, and within your nervous system. I’m straightforward and human. If something feels off, I’ll say it. If there’s a pattern showing up in your life or relationships, we explore it. Some sessions are practical and grounding. Others go deeper into the underlying experiences and survival responses shaping how you move through the world. We go at a pace that respects your nervous system while still creating room for meaningful change. You do not need to show up perfectly put together or have all the right words. Most people come into therapy overwhelmed, shut down, anxious, exhausted, disconnected, or unsure where to even begin. That’s okay. My job is to help you better understand yourself and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. What you can expect from me: • A therapist who is engaged, attentive, and direct • Honest feedback delivered with compassion • Practical tools that actually help outside the therapy room • A space where you can show up authentically without performing or pretending • Therapy that focuses on understanding patterns — not just managing symptoms If you’re looking for therapy that is real, grounded, emotionally honest, and focused on deeper change rather than surface-level coping, we may be a good fit.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session with me is honest, engaged, and focused on understanding what’s actually happening beneath the surface — not just managing symptoms week to week. Most people come in overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, shut down, burned out, or stuck in patterns they can’t seem to break. That’s where we start. My approach is active and collaborative. I ask questions, notice patterns, challenge avoidance, and help clients better understand the emotional, relational, and nervous-system dynamics driving their experiences. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy, but meaningful work does require openness, reflection, and willingness to engage in the process. The work itself usually includes a mix of three things: We focus on building grounding, emotional regulation, and practical tools that help you feel steadier both inside and outside the therapy room. We begin exploring the underlying experiences, survival responses, beliefs, and emotional patterns contributing to anxiety, trauma responses, burnout, relationship difficulties, dissociation, or chronic survival mode. Therapy is not just about insight — it’s about building a life that feels different. We work on boundaries, emotional regulation, self-awareness, communication, relationships, and shifting the patterns that continue keeping you stuck. This is not passive “show up and vent” therapy. The process only works when clients are willing to participate honestly, reflect on patterns, and actively engage in the work of understanding themselves differently.

Without exaggeration, Maggie is hands down one of the best therapists I’ve ever seen. For months, she has consistently gone above and beyond for my loved one’s mental health, and even for myself. And throughout our time working with Maggie, she has been nothing but kind, considerate, compassionate and accommodating both during our sessions and outside of her office hours as well. Finding and picking a therapist can be daunting. So, if you’re feeling hesitant, I can confidently say that Maggie is the best choice you can make. It is clear that this practice is more than just a job to her. And her effort and dedication set the bar for how mental health services should be, and I cannot recommend her enough.
Thank you so much! I truly mean it when I say that I credit you for so much of my success, I remember the very first session, and how much of a wreck I was. Because of your kindness I found a safe place to finally let go of so much that has burdened me! Thank you for saving my life!
Within my first session with Maggie, I felt instantly comfortable and in a safe space with her. Between feeling genuinely listened to and being actually heard for the first time in all of my therapy experiences, I would highly recommend Minds in Motion with Maggie to anyone I know. Life changing would be an absolute understatement!
Maggie has been a lifesaver for me on my mental health journey. She is patient, compassionate and non-judgmental. I cannot recommend her enough!
