It’s difficult to live with symptoms of depression and anxiety. May of us come from communities and families that don’t honor mental health concerns. We need safe space to explore pain, to say, “I’m not good” and get support. I am a compassionate and dedicated therapist committed to fostering mental well-being across diverse populations—including first generation immigrant and undocumented individuals and families. I have extensive experience working with youth and adults around issues of depression, anxiety, boundaries, self-worth, grief and loss.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCLA, where I specializations in immigrant parent-child dynamics and cultural influences on motivation, communication and relationships. I also hold a Master’s degree in Social Work and am an Associate Clinical Social Worker(ACSW) with a PPS certificate. With nearly ten years of experience as a psychology researcher, psychology instructor and academic counselor, I have worked extensively with diverse cultures, including Asian, Latino, and Muslim communities, both in the school district and other counseling roles.
What should a new client know about working with you?
As a therapist, I specialize in motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, and have a proven track record in treating social anxiety, general anxiety, depression, grief, and supporting LGBTQIA+
individuals. I also lead group counseling sessions, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for all clients.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The first appointment is always an assessment. This is where I get to know you, your needs, concerns you history. During that meeting we make a plan and set goals for how you want services to move forward. After that every session is a collaboration to make your goals a reality.
