About Me
Hi, I’m Julia. I’m passionate about human connection and working with you to better your mental health and understanding of yourself! Therapy provides a space not only to manage crisis but also day to day life. I approach therapy as teamwork: an opportunity for us to work together to provide you with skills to function better independently.
My personality is warm, open and curious. I’m happy to work with you to both bolster your belief in yourself and challenge where desired to grow. I aim to create a space where I will listen to your thoughts and be inquisitive as we identify emotions underpinning your beliefs and ways of working in the world. I encourage an environment that allows for communication and feedback. I’m a native New Yorker who made my way into the psychotherapy field after a past career in the corporate world. This experience gives me the ability to understand the environment and issues you might be facing if you are a professional. I provide a non-judgmental and compassionate space, whether it’s your first time in therapy or have years of experience in analysis.
I focus on treating depression, anxiety, grief, work, relationship and family issues. My therapeutic style is psychodynamic, meaning we will focus on the impact of your family upbringing and environment as it relates to the way you deal with challenges. I also draw on other modalities such as CBT, mindfulness and imaginal exposure.
