What should a new client know about working with you?

As someone who grew up in Asian communities, I understand that expressing emotions or personal struggles is not always encouraged due to cultural expectations and educational environments. However, we don’t have to remain limited by those experiences. In therapy, we can explore new perspectives while honoring your cultural background, integrating past experiences with your present goals to create a healthier and more compassionate relationship with yourself. I earned my Master’s degree in School Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University and an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, culturally informed, and grounded in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with both adolescents and adults. For teens, therapy may focus on identity development, peer relationships, academic pressure, and communication with parents or teachers. With adults, we often explore unhelpful thought patterns, stress, life transitions, and coping strategies that may no longer serve you. Together, we will identify your strengths, build supportive resources, and develop practical tools to help you not only find balance but truly thrive.
