I specialize in helping people overcome their anxiety by both managing symptoms and understanding the underlying causes. I have a special interest in working with men who are starting therapy for the first time and are unsure where to begin in addressing their concerns.
Anxiety can sometimes be overwhelming and hard to manage. It can cause you to shut down or abandon commitments and goals. Anxiety is challenging because it is not a primary feeling but an umbrella under which many feelings exist. It is essentially an alarm system signaling that something needs attention.
I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Westwood Counseling Center. I've seen clients use the insights gained in therapy to empower themselves to make different choices and take risks with new behaviors that help them feel more comfortable with who they are and less anxious as a result.
