What to expect in therapy with me:
I am a direct though empathetic clinician. I especially enjoy working with individuals who feel stuck after retirement or a major life change. If you are moving toward a career, job or life change such as your children moving out or divorce we will work well together. I am focused on helping you identify and reach your goals utilizing small changes that build to more fulfilling life. Each person is treated with respect, empathy and dignity. Together we identify your goals and collaboratively work through the process of achieving them. I believe that the major source of change is a strong therapeutic rapport between myself and the individuals with whom I work.
What makes me different:
I am a direct and honest clinician who brings years of experience to my practice from a very wide base. I truly enjoy working with older professionals who are transitioning through the stages of life. As a clinician who recently retired from full time agency work I can truly connect with those who are moving through these stages.
Nuts and Bolts:
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with adults in a variety of settings. I work with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, maintaining sobriety, interpersonal relationship concerns, and self-esteem. My approaches are often a combination of motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and dialectical behavior therapy.
