Kimberly has been in Brooklyn for four years after working and living in New Delhi for two years. Before India, she spent most of her adult life in Philadelphia. She received her of Bachelors in Fine Art in Sculpture from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, leading to her work in community arts programs with youth and homeless populations, which culminated in her receiving a Masters in Social Service from Bryn Mawr College in 2008. Kimberly thinks creatively about expression, human connection, communication, and social justice and she understands the thread that links her many passions.
Kimberly has a breath of experience supporting clients through life changes, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and addiction. She has worked in a range of settings and with a range of populations; often specializing in work with women and children and LGBTQI folks. She has also been dedicated to her work with survivors of sexual abuse, human trafficking, and homelessness and incarcerated populations.
Therapeutically, Kimberly believes in establishing a deep restorative connection that is unique to the individual client. She takes a holistic approach using an eclectic combination of psychodynamic psychotherapy and client-centered therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques for anxiety management, assessing core beliefs and automatic thoughts. Bodywork, mindfulness and creative expression are tools in helping her clients find balance that is sustainable.
In her free time, Kimberly carves stone, works with wood, reads, travels, farms and meditates. She also loves music, film, art museums and galleries. Multiple times she has lived abroad and is interested in intentional living and communities.
