Hi there. I'm Lani! I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor with 16 years of experience. I enjoy my job every day and am passionate about helping people like you. I chose this career after developing an early interest in psychology and helping others during my adolescent years.
My approach
My therapy style is eclectic, combining different methods to meet your individual needs. I aim to help you manage mental health, heal from life experiences, understand your emotions, and live a happier, more fulfilling life.
My focus
I work primarily with adults, focusing on trauma and healing, depression, stress and anxiety, anger management, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, suicidality, and personal growth. These areas are relevant to individuals trying to find their way and overcome obstacles.
My communication style
I provide a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental space for you to express yourself. Feedback from clients over 16 years describes me as welcoming, educated, experienced, a good listener, well worth the time and money, amazing, and the most helpful therapist they've had.
My journey to mental healthcare
I began college at BYU-Hawaii in Laie on Oahu. After two years, I moved to California, got married, and raised four children while working intermittently in healthcare. After my youngest was born, I returned to academics as an online student, earning my Bachelor's in psychology at Thomas Edison State University, NJ. I then earned my Master's in Counseling from the University of Phoenix, preparing me to serve clients with compassion and expertise.
