*Note that prior to the first session taking place with the provider, LifeStance will require a credit card on file. Lee Abbott is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Distance Certified Counselor, and Accelerated Resolution Therapist in Georgia. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wofford College in South Carolina and a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of New Orleans in Louisiana. Lee has worked in a variety of settings, including substance abuse treatment with adult males in prison, adolescent substance abuse within the juvenile justice system, serving as Director of Guidance at a New Orleans high school during and after Hurricane Katrina, and in private practice working with individuals, couples, and families. Lee believes in a cognitive behavioral approach to counseling combined with Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), reality therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy to help his clients achieve their goals as efficiently as possible. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps clients understand how their actions and behaviors contribute to their life situation. SFBT focuses on what clients want to achieve in therapy rather than the issues that caused them to seek counseling. One of the core principles of reality therapy is that humans always act to meet five basic needs: power, love and belonging, freedom, fun, and survival. It involves straightforward communication between counselor and client. ART is a form of therapy that achieves rapid results, usually within one to five sessions. Clients with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, sexual abuse, and many other mental and physical conditions can experience remarkable benefits starting in the first session. Lee Abbott sees patients aged 11 years and above.
