What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients who are motivated to find contentment and peace. They may not understand what it looks like or how to reach it, but they are willing to put in the effort. It can be difficult to recognize what fulfills us at first, but willingness to open up and accept guidance is a very powerful start. Ideally, mothers who are struggling with everyday issues such as juggling work, family and relationships are the clients that I would love to be able to work with.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I've always been a "caretaker" for as long as I can remember. However, as I got older, I realized taking care of others was a trauma response to not properly address past trauma in my life. In other words, I was great at taking care of others but when it came to my own life, I was lacking. It wasn't until I discovered therapy that I finally addressed my past trauma and understood how important the therapeutic process is. When you don't take care of yourself first, it is very difficult to continue to take care of others. I want to offer a safe therapeutic environment for my clients where they can feel heard, supported, and validated. It's important for my clients to know that I care about them and am truly invested so they know they matter. Looking back on my own therapeutic journey, the clinicians that stuck out to me were the ones that showed a genuine interest in my personal journey.
