Psychotherapist
OH
Hi there, I'm Kelly! Thank you for reaching out for help. I am Kelly Walsh, LISW-S. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Kentucky and my Bachelor's from the University of Evansville. I have been in practice since 1993 and bring many years of experience to my work. I practice CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and a host of other approaches, and together we will decide which one or ones are best for you. I am warm and engaging, and I want my clients to feel as comfortable as possible throughout the entire therapy process. I am a trauma expert but also knowledgeable in the treatment and research of many other diagnoses, including ASD, Dissociative Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Loss, and more. As an ally to the Queer Community, I frequently work with folks in this community and have much success using the Rogerian approach of "Unconditional Positive Regard." I believe there is a solution to every problem-maybe one you haven't considered yet. I am excited to help you move from where you are today to where you want to be in your mental wellness. My approach to therapy utilizes CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, reminiscence therapy, storytelling, art, music, and more. I keep all my skills sharp to provide a wide range of treatment modalities that complement each client's mental wellness. I have experience working with adults 18 years and older, as well as couples, addressing PTSD, GAD, MDD, Dissociative Disorders, Personality Disorders, unresolved disorders, grief, loss, and trauma. In couples therapy, I work with issues such as divorce, interpersonal violence, abuse, adultery, and more. I create an environment of safety, which I will discuss with you in depth. A safe therapy space is essential for you to benefit from the work we do. We build this safety through therapeutic rapport by talking, communicating, and sharing.
