I have been seeing Lisa for about 6 months now. Since my very first visit I have found her manner to be warm, comforting, and intelligent. She makes me feel like I can say anything without fear of getting in trouble. This new found freedom is changing my life!
Lisa Moskowitz is a brilliant passionate analyst. Whereas many professionals become jaded and lazy after many years in their field, Lisa is a vigorous truth seeker willing to turn the lens on herself as well. Her methods are unorthodox: the relationship between analyst and patient is tantamount - there is no objective reality other than one's own perceptions - nothing is petty or undeserving of interpretation - the focus is on the unmet needs of the patients.

More about Lisa J. (Moskowitz) Slade, MA

I have been practicing psychotherapy and psychoanalysis for over 30 years. I have come to believe that what is most important is the experience of my patients. So often I see people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, despair, and hopelessness. No one deserves to live trapped inside of these feelings. Through talk therapy, a person can come to understand and change why they feel the way they do and where their daily struggles actually come from. When we explore together, you will discover how your experiences truly affect your life and daily actions. There is no right answer. There is simply an answer that fits you as a person. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I offer brief contractual therapy - also referred to as Goal-Oriented Therapy. This therapy focuses on a goal or problem you wish to address that we agree to work on exclusively in a specific time frame. For example, one session a week for three to six months, targeting your individual goal/needs. I specialize in treatment with people who have been traumatized early in life or who have suffered some traumatic event as an adult and suffer from PTSD. My other specialties include working with couples and individuals with chronic illness and self-esteem issues. I am certified in hypnotherapy.

I was nervous about the session but Lisa made me feel comfortable quickly. And she really gets me!
She is the mother I wanted and the father I needed.
I have a very good feeling about Lisa Slade after my initial consult with her. She is obviously a seasoned therapist with a commanding knowledge of her field. Yet she provide more than just intellect. She has a warm and engaging manner that was quite appealing. I have been to many therapists in my day, but Lisa listened to me in a manner that I had never experienced before. I felt understood. That is as much as I could hope for.
I was impressed with how quickly I was put at ease. Ms. Slade asks questions that provoke reflection while providing guidence and support for my issues. Problems in my work and personal life that once seemed insurmountable now are more managable. I have grown and look forward to future session. Ms. Slade is insightful, experienced and knows her proffesion well. She is attuned to my needs, supportive and cares about my health. The office is very organize. I was seen at the appointment time!

I was very anxious before I went but after a short time sitting in her office I calmed down and was able to talk more freely than I ever believed I could have. Lisa was serious but warm and I felt that she took me seriously. In all, I was thrilled to have found this therapist. The whole atmosphere she created made me feel at home which I think is very rare. I felt respected and taken seriously which she accomplished along with great warmth and attentiveness. I did not wait at all. I arrived on time and she took me right in.

Lisa is an empathic listener who is nonjudgemental and emotionally supportive of my life. This is important to me because I have difficulty valuing myself and my needs. She also discusses aspects of her own life which are connected to my life. This makes our relationship feel more solid and safe. I feel very comfortable in her home. She has helped me alot. She is kind and considerate and soft spoken. I was seen promptly.
