What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to know that you don't have to arrive with everything figured out, and you don't have to explain yourself in any particular order. My work is relational, which means the therapy relationship itself matters. I'll be warm and engaged with you, and I'll also gently challenge you when it's useful. For clients healing from sexual assault, abuse, or relational trauma, we move at your pace, and you stay in control of what we talk about and when. Whether you're a teen navigating something hard for the first time or an adult who has been holding it together for others for years, my hope is that you leave sessions feeling more understood and a little more like yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first sessions are about getting to know you, understanding what brought you in, and looking at how your history is showing up in your present. From there, we set goals together, so the work reflects what you actually want rather than what I think you should want. I then tailor the approach to you. That might mean EMDR and somatic work for trauma that lives in the body, CBT for the patterns that keep you stuck, or mindfulness practices for moments when things feel overwhelming. We check in regularly about what's helping and what isn't, and I adjust as you grow and your needs shift.
