Hi there, I'm Lisa!
My name is Lisa Johnson, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. We all face the unexpected-loss, relationship struggles, job changes, financial issues, pain, or sickness. It helps to have someone to talk to, offering a listening ear and a different perspective. I aim to provide that support and use my experience and training to help others through tough times. I will meet you where you are and help you find where you want to be.
I earned my Master's in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, equipping me with the knowledge and skills to support clients effectively.
My approach
I am solution-focused and draw from a broad spectrum of activities, modalities, and experiences to help process emotions. I don't limit myself to one theoretical model because we all respond differently.
My focus
I primarily work with children ages 4 and up but also enjoy working with adults, especially those seeking Christian counseling or help with anxiety and panic disorder.
My communication style
I meet clients where they are to help them reach where they want to be. I'm laid back, not imposing my style but reflecting clients' needs and desires for therapy.
My journey to mental healthcare
For thirteen years, I taught agriculture to middle and high school students. Teaching 120 freshmen daily, I realized my heart hurt for students carrying burdens beyond their backpacks. I wanted to help them more deeply-not just be another stop in their day. It took time, but I returned to school and journeyed to this point. My "why" is always about helping people-whatever that may look like.
