Hi there, I'm Lorraine!
Lorraine is a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut who strives to help individuals (children, adolescents, and adults), couples, families, and groups who are living with anxiety, ADHD and other childhood disorders, chronic illness, grief, loss, trauma, relationship issues and dysfunction in family systems. With a client-centered approach, she aims to help clients transform thoughts and feelings from negative to positive. She guides clients to find balance and meaning in their lives, believing that is the route to the harmony, happiness, and peace of mind they seek. Lorraine uses art and the creative process to help clients improve cognition, build self-esteem, foster awareness, cultivate resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, resolve conflicts and reduce stress. She believes that illness and healing take place on many levels; therefore, she integrates mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness techniques into her practice. Lorraine has worked with many distinct populations in the United States and abroad. She spearheaded the art therapy program at Saint Francis Hospital, providing individual and group art therapy to patients, children, and families dealing with the trauma of chronic illness, loss, and grief. She also worked as a military and family life counselor in the US and abroad, helping active duty service members, couples, children, and families with the challenges and stressors of balancing military and personal life. She has worked in various group homes and assisted living facilities with the elderly, as well as within the criminal justice system and schools.
