I was hesitant to see a psychiatrist, but Louisa made me feel very comfortable. The office was lovely and felt like a safe place. The appointment started right on time, so I didn't have to wait in the lobby forever. I will definitely be going back to see her again.

Dr. Hong is an excellent psychiatrist who was highly recommended by her colleagues at NYU Langone. She is compassionate and was right on point with her assessment. During the visit, she was very patient and listened to my history. She utilizes both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. She also asked many insightful questions to help me begin to uunderstand my diagnosis.

I understand it is a big decision to seek help. I am glad you have taken steps toward treatment. I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist who helps adults struggling with anxiety, depression, their identities and relationships.
Our minds are instrumental in shaping our lives. Often, what has worked for you before no longer helps you in the present. We will work together to understand your story, help you to feel better, gain greater self-knowledge, and achieve a more fulfilling life.
My specialty is psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I also provide medication management to supplement psychotherapy when it is appropriate. I work with English or Mandarin speaking patients.
I am a "out of network" provider on most insurances plans. I will provide you with a statement that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Please contact me with any questions about my fees.
About me:
I graduated from Williams College with a B.A. with Honors after studying English literature and Sociology. I earned my M.D. from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed my adult psychiatry residency at New York University affiliated clinics and hospitals.
I have experience training and working at the NYU Psychiatry Associates Practice, Bellevue Family Therapy Program, NYU Sex Therapy Program, Gouverneur Asian-Bicultural Clinic, and New York Harbor VA. I have taught at the NYU School of Medicine and University of Ghana in Accra. I have published papers in basic science, pediatrics, and psychotherapy.
