Getting to know Dr. Syed Ammar
Dr. Ammar received his medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas in St. Kitts and Nevis. He then completed psychiatry residency training at Cooper University Hospital in Camden NJ where he served as a chief resident and was awarded psychiatry chairman’s award for distinguished service. Has experience working with adolescents and adults of all ages requiring mental health care for depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, ASD, bipolar and psychotic disorders. Believes in a holistic approach to patient care and empowering patients to recognize their own strengths in order to actively participate in their treatment. Strives to combine psychopharmacology with mindfulness-based psychotherapy for all of his patients to obtain maximal results.

Dr Ammar is wonderful! We had an issue with our connection at the beginning of the telemedicine visit and he worked with us to figure it out. My 14-year old daughter was the patient and she is very picky about her doctors (she has many because of health issues). She loved Dr Ammar and is happy to see him again. He is a great listener and seems to genuinely care.

The doctor was friendly and understanding. My son smiled while talking to him which told me a lot. I would definitely recommend him as a provider to anyone who is need of a good doctor.

I generally and genuinely dislike psychiatrists from my experiences because I think of them as the candy man. However, Dr. Ammar isn’t one of them and actually takes the time to properly diagnose and treat. Excellent bedside manners even virtually. Isn’t trying to throw medication at you without discussing it with you and actually treats you with respect and not talk down to you. Cool dude
