Hi there! I'm Rev. Mae Barree. Do you experience feelings of being overwhelmed, pulled in different directions, and unable to fit it all in? How about your relationships, work, school, and your health? Is it hard to provide much-needed love for yourself? I help individuals with similar concerns manage anxiety and practice self-care to avoid burnout. Together, we can discover what is not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a whole-self approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body, and spirit. I also integrate mindfulness and will teach you coping skills to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. If you would like me to integrate biblically based wisdom and/or prayer, just ask! Whether you're dealing with anger issues, grief and loss, or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to support you. As a couple, you may be requesting premarital counseling. What a wonderful and exciting time! We will cover what to expect in marriage and how to communicate effectively, which is the most important ingredient in a marital relationship. You may have experienced the loss of a loved one or someone not as close to you. It could be that there have been quite a few transitions in your life causing you to experience grief and loss. Together, we will learn how the stages of grief can impact you and how to cope after loss. I hold a Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hang-ups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our sessions, you will be heard. You can expect me to be compassionate, and understanding. I will do my best to make sure that we communicate effectively. You and I will both take turns, you talk and I will listen, and vice versa. As your therapist, you deserve the best of care, Your growth and healing are my number one concern. As we enter into the client-therapist relationship, we will discuss your concerns and together, develop therapy goals. Your goals will determine how we will proceed with your treatment. Being open and honest is key. Should you have reservations about sharing, let me know so that, if you are not comfortable, we can wait until you are ready to share. Sessions will include assignments of homework and we will review of your completed homework in return visits.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
