Marissa's interest in physical therapy began at a young age when she saw a physical therapist help her grandmother walk again after a hospitalization. She was inspired to volunteer at a local hospital in outpatient rehabilitation, where she observed outpatient physical therapy and admired the idea of helping others restore function. She attended Boston University’s 6-year accelerated BS/DPT program, earning both her Bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Physical Therapy. Throughout her studies, she worked in a variety of settings including acute care, outpatient orthopedics, aquatic therapy, and pediatric physical therapy. With her diverse experience, she enjoys treating patients of all ages, with a particular interest in post-operative rehabilitation. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and utilizes evidence-based treatments to help her patients return to doing what they love—from walking their dog to competitive sports.
