I was able to present most of the issues I had in mind and he was a proficient listener who provided me with adequate feedback.
The wait time for the visit was nothing, I was instantly greated by the doctor. It was really easy to talk to the doctor and express him more about myself that would give a better insight about me.

More about Mark Baum, LCSW

I have been a therapist for 20 years. I graduated from NYU School of Social Work. I completed a Institute training program at NYU Medical School in psychodynamic psychotherapy with Adults. I have been a therapist at Metropolitan Hospital and Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center. It was at these two hospitals where I learned how to help people with various emotional problems. I worked with people struggling with anxiety and depression and PTSD. I got to know many people in a very intimate way . I work in a non judgemental manner with people. I am a client centered therapist where the patient’s goals are the priority in treatment with me. I try not to give advice unless it is asked for by the client. I have seen great progress in the patients that I have treated. Many have found excellent jobs while in treatment with me. Many have stopped using drugs while working with me using Cognitive – Behavioral treatment techniques. I enjoy working with clients . It is very gratifying being a therapist being able to help people in a very practical manner. I am now working in private practice at 26 Court Street in downtown Brooklyn. I am able to take several insurance plans . They include Cigna, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna. I also see patients who pay out of pocket for therapy. I also work with the elderly because I am a Medicare Provider. I have extensive experience working with the LGBT population at Housing Works in a mental health clinic in East New York , Brooklyn It has been very gratifying working with people with various sexual orientations. I have learned a lot in this specialized area. I have worked with people of various ethnicities and races. It is wonderful to say I worked in Spanish Harlem for over 5 years. I didn’t learn as much Spanish as I would have like but I learned a lot about Hispanic culture. It was fascinating working in Hospital who primarily serve minority population. I was humbled hearing stories of oppression and discrimination which negatively affect such good people. I currently work with people with various ethnicities in a very diverse neighborhood such as downtown Brooklyn. I love working as a therapist in Brooklyn. Nothing could be more gratifying.
