What I love most about counseling is the privilege to learn from and grow with my clients. I am a licensed professional counselor with a private practice at Maria Droste Counseling Center (MDCC) in Denver, specializing in individual and couples therapy. In my work with clients I emphasize that as social creatures most of our suffering stems from relationships, but at the same time, all of our healing happens through connections with others. I help clients identify how their early relationships shaped life patterns that are not always healthy. My style is integrative; using wisdom from different therapy approaches including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, existential, and humanistic. I work with people struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, communication issues, loss, life transitions, feelings of isolation, and variety of relationship issues. I hold a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver and a master’s degree in Psychology from Opole University, Poland. Originally from Poland, I offer counseling in both English and Polish. In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about teaching and supervising therapists in training.

I really appreciate how much Marta cares about what I have to say and the insight she has provided me has helped make a difference in my life. She works hard to build trust so that I feel as comfortable as I can be being vulnerable. She actively listens and gently pushes me to reconcile my issues so that I can have confidence in my work and my relationships. I highly recommend Marta!

I came to Marta with deep-rooted defenses; paralyzed by shame. Marta's consistency, patience and professionalism created a safe space for me to explore myself honestly. At first, I found myself asking, "What would Marta do?", but by the end of our relationship, I had developed confidence in my own self and abilities. Trusting my intuition, I was now looking to myself for answers.
