What should a new client know about working with you?

Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and bilingual psychotherapist (fluent in English and Spanish), I bring a compassionate, culturally sensitive, and collaborative approach to therapy. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. I work with adults (and/or children, adolescents, families—customize based on your practice) facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties and life transitions. I also have experience supporting immigrant and first-generation communities, and I value the richness and complexity of multicultural identities. In therapy, I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, trauma-informed care, and a strengths-based perspective. That means I focus not just on what’s difficult, but also on your resilience, values, and inner resources. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start therapy—just a willingness to be curious and open to the process. Whether we work in English or Spanish, I strive to build a warm, nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship where you feel truly seen and supported. If you have questions or concerns about therapy, we’ll talk about them together. I believe healing happens in connection, and I’m honored to be part of your journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to meet your unique needs. Here’s what you can typically expect when we work together: 1. Initial Consultation We’ll start with a brief phone call or video consultation (usually 15–20 minutes) to get to know each other, answer your questions, and make sure I’m a good fit for your needs. 2. Intake Session Our first full session is focused on getting a deeper understanding of your history, current concerns, goals, and strengths. We’ll also talk about any cultural or personal factors that are important for you to bring into the room—including the option to work in Spanish or English. 3. Personalized Treatment Planning Together, we’ll identify your goals and develop a plan that feels manageable and meaningful to you. I often use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and relational work—depending on what best supports your growth. 4. Ongoing Sessions During our regular sessions (usually weekly or biweekly), we’ll explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and patterns that may be impacting your well-being. I aim to provide a supportive, culturally respectful environment where you feel safe to be yourself and work through challenges. 5. Evaluation and Closure As you make progress, we’ll periodically check in on your goals and adjust our work as needed. When the time comes to end therapy, we’ll plan together for a thoughtful and supportive transition. I recognize that seeking help can be vulnerable and courageous. My role is to walk alongside you—whether in Spanish or English—and support you in finding clarity, healing, and connection.

More information on payments and coverage

Only Out-of-Pocket Payments is accepted. For the following reasons: 1. Greater Privacy and Confidentiality When you pay out of pocket, your information stays between you and your therapist. Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis and may audit your records. Private pay protects your confidentiality and avoids having a permanent diagnosis on your medical record. 2. No Need for a Diagnosis Insurance requires that you meet criteria for a mental health diagnosis (e.g., anxiety, depression) to qualify for coverage. If you're seeking therapy for personal growth, life transitions, stress, or relationship concerns, private pay allows you to access care without needing a formal diagnosis. 3. More Control Over Your Treatment With private pay, you and your therapist decide how often and how long you meet—without restrictions from insurance. You can pursue therapy at your own pace, based on your needs and goals.
