Melissa Shalom is the owner of Dream Physical Therapy, located in Long Island City, New York. She also provides home visits on an as needed basis throughout Manhattan. Dr. Shalom attended Columbia University, where she received her doctorate in physical therapy. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Sport Studies at Rutgers University.
Dr. Shalom utilizes techniques such as soft tissue mobilizations, kinesiotaping, and passive stretching with an emphasis on functional exercise training. She also conducts on-court tennis and squash evaluations in order help her patients improve their mechanics. Dr. Shalom holds professional memberships in the American Physical Therapy Association and the New York Physical Therapy Association. She welcomes patients who speak English, Spanish, and Hebrew to her practice. Dr. Shalom has earned a Certification in Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute.
Outside of practicing physical therapy, Dr. Shalom enjoys playing tennis, running, exercising, and spending time with her family. She is dedicated to helping her patients receive the treatment they need so they can enjoy a positive and fulfilling lifestyle.

Melissa was extremely attentive and gave a first-class examination of my ankle injury. During the session, she performed a number of exercises, observed how I walked and later gave a thorough explanation on what was going on. I feel relieved and determined to get back to 100%. Thank you.
