Whether you’re facing a challenging situation or are looking to identify a new direction, I would be privileged to help you create options and remove obstacles that are inhibiting change.
I specialize in relationship issues. I work with a combination of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), which research endorses as one of the most effective therapeutic techniques) and psychodynamic approaches to rapidly identify the themes that limit movement. We will quickly devise an effective strategy based on an individualized treatment plan.
I’ve worked with people in the arts, business, medicine and a wide diversity of professions to meet the challenges they’ve encountered. As a parent and partner in a longtime marriage I understand the difficulty of balancing multiple roles in today’s cultural and economic climate. I’ve been on the staff of several prominent hospitals and have been clinical director of several New York city agencies before entering private practice. With over 20 years of experience I’ve learned that a good client therapist alliance is at the heart of the treatment process.

I have been seeing Merry for many years now even though at times I was living in a different state. She is compassionate yet firm when she needs to be. She also applies various methods of therapy which is quite useful. She recommends good reading material that is always very appropriate to the issue I am struggling with. She is responsive and very reliable and I recommended her to many of the peope I know and will continue to do so.
