Nadia Qadeer treats patients between the ages of 10 and 50 years old. I received my Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Health Professions, and my Bachelor's of Science in Behavior & Health from Boston University Sargent College in 2015. Throughout my academic career, I have interned and worked in various healthcare settings. These experiences have granted me opportunities to learn from clients of diverse backgrounds, various ages, and complex life circumstances: from children in schools, to members of nursing homes and assisted living facilities, to adults with psychiatric disabilities in a partial care facility with job training. I have provided individual and group counseling to help clients learn new skills to manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life, including but not limited to coping skills development, leisure exploration, meditation, and vocational exploration and rehabilitation.
As a therapist, I take an eclectic approach to providing services, recognizing that a single therapeutic method does not work for everyone. I have found that Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing can be especially beneficial for clients seeking to manage symptoms or make life changes. I utilize a person-centered approach and offer clients unconditional positive regard. I strive to be approachable to all ages and backgrounds. My life experiences have given me a multicultural perspective, allowing me to connect with many individuals and foster positive working alliances. I take things at face value and encourage my clients to harness the therapeutic process to better meet their needs and achieve their goals.
