More about Nanychi Franquiz, LMSW
Because I was fortunate enough to experience the benefits of therapy on a personal level, I have dedicated my career to providing the same support and guidance to others. Therapy provided me with a safe and judgement free outlet, and I am happy to offer the same safe space to my patients.
I received my Master of Social Work from the NYU Silver School of Social Work and completed my internship at the King’s County District Attorney’s Office, specifically working to help crime victims, navigate the legal system and ensure they were fully supported in their psycho-social needs. I have worked with both adolescents and adults living with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, or who may have experienced some form of trauma. I have also worked with couples and families, helping them transition into a place of compromise, understanding, and improved communication.
I see therapy as a highly collaborative experience between patient and clinician and I am a firm believer that the patient is as much a guide in a session as the clinician. It is important to me that my patients feel they have the power to direct the session while still exploring and working to through the issues that connected them to therapy.
