Natalie is an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate Creative Arts Therapist specializing in using dance/movement as a tool for healing and self-discovery. She holds a Master's degree in Dance and Movement Therapy from Pratt Institute. Throughout her career, she has worked with diverse populations including children, adolescents, and adults in clinical and community-based settings. Supporting clients coping with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation, and PTSD, Natalie's approach is defined by her creativity, active listening, empathy, and utmost respect for her clients. Finding inspiration from her Latin American roots, Natalie values diversity and practices cultural humility in and beyond sessions.
As a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, Natalie's counseling sessions are conducted through a trauma-informed lens. She has worked extensively with survivors of trauma and has used EMDR to aid clients in confronting and overcoming challenges posed by trauma.
Integrating evidence-based therapeutic techniques with creative expression, her sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Drawing from her background in dance, movement, and performance, Natalie incorporates body-based practices such as breathwork, authentic movement, improvisation, and somatic experiencing alongside traditional talk therapy to deepen self-awareness, cultivate mind-body connection, and explore emotions, narratives, and defenses sensitively and effectively. She empowers her clients to become collaborators in their therapeutic treatment, working with them to develop goals that are achievable within desired time frames. In a supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental environment, Natalie assists clients in navigating life stressors, recognizing and building resilience and strengths, and meeting therapeutic goals.
