Dr. Neda Koehnemann, PhD

Psychotherapist
105 Jazz Dr, Panama City, FL
I am a licensed psychologist in Florida with over twenty-five years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of mood disorders, parenting challenges, behavioral concerns, and relationship issues. I earned my PsyD in Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi State University. Throughout my career, I have conducted evaluations for Social Security Disability and the Department of Children and Families, as well as custody and parental evaluations for families and the court system. I am trained in Collaborative Law divorce mediation, helping families focus on the best interests of their children during difficult circumstances. I particularly enjoy working with patients who are struggling to adjust as life becomes more complex because I believe we all can become more adaptable and develop new skills and techniques to cope more effectively. I have supported patients recovering from significant medical issues including COPD, CVA, TBI, cancer, diabetes, COVID, and physical injuries, assisting them in regaining strength and independence to return home following inpatient rehabilitation. Many of the individuals I work with are first responders, experiencing PTSD or Acute Stress Disorder following trauma. My therapy style varies according to the issues presented. I do not judge but treat each person as an individual, providing the support they need. I use cognitive-behavioral and reality therapy and align closely with the humanistic approach in all client care. I prefer to be solution-focused, offering clients valuable tools they can use in the future. Decision-making strategies and techniques are emphasized. I provide supportive therapy aimed at empowering patients to take confident, measured steps toward the next phase of their life journey.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Prompt and very nice!
I’d been working with a previous therapist due to depression I was experiencing as result of a brain injury. However, she retired and I needed to find a new provider. I was extremely disappointed in the first virtual session. Perhaps my expectations were unrealistic. I expected her to spend much of our time getting to know me, my history, and what I was looking for. Instead, the session opened abruptly with her asking what I needed from her. Within the first 15 minutes she asked me to consider taking a highly addictive medicine for concentration/cognitive cognitive issues I was experiencing as a result of my injury. She spent more time talking than asking questions and listening. I felt like she focused on action planning before understanding my entire situation. I also found it distracting to talk with her because most of the time I could only see the top of her eyes/her forehead due video camera placement and she made very little eye contact (her eyes were constantly wandering).
