More about Nicholas Sciarrone, LMHC

I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and struggles related to life transitions. I help clients find the solid ground they need to support forward movement and a more positive trajectory. I begin by working with clients in developing a deeper understanding of themselves to arm them with the knowledge necessary to address their problems and make changes necessary to develop more adaptive coping strategies and improve the quality of their lives. I am non-judgemental and work to create a space in which clients can freely explore, uncover, and accept themselves more fully to live fuller, more meaningful lives. I have been in the mental health field for over a decade working with individuals with a wide variety of issues. My experience includes community mental health, hospital settings, emergency mental health, and private practice. As a result, I am comfortable, familiar, and skilled at working with clients who come to me looking for help around issues ranging from personal growth, relationship improvement, anxiety, and depression, and extends to acute and chronic conditions such as bipolar disorder, thought disorders, and debilitating mood disorders. I received my bachelor's degree in psychology from Seattle University and my master's of arts in psychology, also at Seattle University, through their existential-phenomenology program. Psychology, biology, and anthropology, as they relate to the human experience have been my lifelong passions and the focus of both my self-directed and academic studies. These areas of focus have contributed depth and breadth to my unique understanding of the human condition and its complexities. I grew up in New Jersey and relocated to Seattle for my undergrad studies. I was impressed by the academic rigor and multidisciplinary approach to education that I discovered here. That, combined with a vibrant music scene and an environment supporting self-expression attracted me to the city.
