My practice integrates movement and the body with traditional verbal therapy, using a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic approach where interpersonal relationships are explored, and insight is increased as conscious and unconscious thoughts and feelings are examined, along with adaptive behaviors and ways of coping. I invite clients to explore the mind/body connection, as emotional experiences are often held in the body. Verbal and movement processing is encouraged. Cultivating a relationship with one's body can often assist in moments of dysregulation, as clients find safety by creating new experiences in the body, calming the nervous system. This can take the shape of moving together, learning breathing and relaxation techniques, body scans, or guided imagery/meditation. Creating an empathic, trusting therapeutic relationship allows me to assist clients on their journey to gain healthy development, insight, body awareness, clarity, and growth. I hold a Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Pratt Institute and earned my Bachelor's degrees from City University of New York, Hunter College, and Roger Williams University.
