Salenia Sanchez (she/her) is a practitioner who believes in taking courageous steps to embrace therapy and embark on personal self-growth through the power of reflection. She draws meaning from narrative-based, person-centered approaches, as well as CBT and DBT treatments, to reveal the unseen. Through her practice with art therapy, Salenia expands on shapes, colors, and the emotions they evoke to create a bridge between art and words. Clients open to art discovery often find deeper insights within themselves.
Salenia has worked alongside the DOE and DOH, providing psychotherapy treatment for children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, as well as those with ADHD and dyslexia, both individually and in groups. She also has experience working with adults dealing with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and divorce. Skilled at providing a non-judgmental space, Salenia is experienced in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. She believes that being playful and humorous is vital to our self-growth.
Salenia holds a Master’s in Professional Studies from Pratt Institute, which enriches her holistic and creative approach to therapy.

There is a significant amount of silence during our sessions, which I find distracting. While she is empathetic and shows that she understands the issues at hand, she spends much of our time together taking notes and I am uncertain how these notes will be utilized in the future. Wish there was more knowledge sharing in real time.

Salenia Sanchez was sooo lovely and kind! However, the agenda of our first meeting was not clear and concise. Agenda was casually mentioned with no context. I wish meeting expectations were more clear. Again Salenia was sooo nice.

Salenia is such a kind, caring, and supportive therapist. She is easily able to assess and attend to the needs of others due to her natural empathy. She is also very professional and knowledgable while still being very down to earth and easy to talk to. You can tell she really cares and takes her work seriously. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
