More about Sara Rogers, LPC

Sara Rogers is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois who has been practicing since 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Arizona University. Sara provides an inclusive, safe therapeutic environment. Her approach is to support you by being a safe space for your challenging life experiences, thoughts, and emotions. As we move through life, everyone deserves a place to feel supported and heard without judgment. During therapy, Sara seeks to maintain an open and honest dialogue with you, working together to identify your unique needs and expectations for the therapy experience-whether that's healing from past experiences, shifting existing patterns or behaviors, or learning more about yourself. As you navigate the therapy process together, Sara uses a variety of interventions tailored to your goals and needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused, Solution-Focused Brief, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Play Therapy. If you're unsure what you're looking for, you will explore together to find interventions that best support your growth. Sara has experience working with a variety of clients in hospital, residential, outpatient, school, and community mental health settings. She works with children, adolescents, and adults, focusing on trauma, grief and loss, mood disorders, self-esteem, self-harm, anxiety, communication, and family conflict, with additional focuses on parent-child interaction and play therapy. Sara was drawn to therapy through her own lived experiences with familial grief, loss, and trauma. She feels honored and grateful to be a safe space for her clients. In her free time, Sara enjoys being outdoors, hiking with her dog Mia, spending time with her nephew, and baking delicious treats!
