Life sometimes can be stressful and unpredictable. My intention of working at Sonder Mind is being non-judging, validating, supportive, compassionate, and helpful when you need a professional counselor working together to resolve, pass, or consolidate fluctuating stressors inside or around you. I graduated from Walla Walla University with a master's degree in social work in 1998 and since have been working as a qualified mental health professional. I have been licensed through Oregon State Board of Clinical Social Workers in 2002, and have worked with children, adults, seniors, families in government and private practice sectors in rural eastern Oregon. Currently, I accept adult clients only. Clinically, I apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Polyvagal theory, and/or Trauma Informed Care based interventions when working with clients. Currently I am pursuing EMDR certification. I have practiced mindfulness meditation since 2001 and am a registered yoga teacher trained in Amrit, Kundalini, Trauma-Informed, and Viyana schools. Other than working, I enjoy cooking, practicing yoga, meditation, tai-chi, running marathon races, volunteering, creating arts, and gardening. My philosophy of wellness is keeping our mind, body, and spirit healthy and elevating! I look forward to working with you. Let's make lemonade out of lemons and see the smiles in dandelions!!!
