Sheryl Schwartz is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado who has been practicing since 2005. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology in 1993 from Colorado State University Pueblo and worked with at-risk youth until she returned to school and obtained her Master’s in Counseling from Adams State University in 2005. Sheryl spent the next 10 years working in residential treatment with youth and their families, where she helped develop a Native American program and a program for sexually trafficked youth. Later, she worked with adults who were inpatient with significant mental health illnesses and/or substance use issues, supporting their transition into the community.
Asking for help is a courageous step in overcoming past and present struggles. You are truly the expert on your life, and Sheryl will provide a safe place to guide you on your path of recovery. She has experience working with teens, families, and individuals in both outpatient and inpatient settings, addressing varying levels and types of mental health needs. Sheryl specializes in complex trauma disorders, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, sleep, and behavioral concerns. She enjoys supporting young adults in individual and group settings around commonly shared struggles such as body image, assertiveness, social anxiety, relationships, sexuality, identity, and more.
Sheryl utilizes techniques from dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based, solution-focused, and Internal Family Systems approaches to support her clients. She is grateful to continue supporting clients on their path to wellness and looks forward to supporting you on your journey. Outside of work, Sheryl has many interests, including art through painting, photography, and music. She loves spending time with her family and pets and enjoys cooking, health, and fitness.
